Modifications for safety
Check with Ama when scheduling for current guidelines.
INTAKE: As COVID-19 and other viruses are going around, to minimize in-room talking time, if you prefer, we can plan to do your intake, by phone or video, before your scheduled appointment. Some people prefer to do this immediately beforehand, from their car, after they have driven and parked for the appointment. Others prefer an earlier separate time. Please let me know your preference.
Regarding COVID-19 and any illness:
Before your appointment, please check-in with yourself, looking for any of the symptoms below, or other new or unusual symptoms.
People with COVID-19 have had a wide range of symptoms reported – ranging from no or mild symptoms to severe illness. Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. People with these symptoms may have COVID-19:
Fever or chills (99.4 or greater, feel warm to touch, feeling feverish, or a temp 1+ degree higher than your regular.)
Cough
Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
Fatigue or Malaise
New muscle or body aches
Headache
New loss of taste or smell
Sore throat
Congestion or runny nose
Nausea or vomiting
Diarrhea
If you have any of the above symptoms, or feel “off” in any way, please cancel your session, without penalty, and reschedule for after you are symptom-free and testing Negative.
Please remember that any amount of exposure to anyone with COVID-19 (symptoms or not) requires you quarantine. Please check current CDC guidelines here.
Please inform Ama of all possible exposures or symptoms before your in-person sessions.
Within the in the last 14 days, have you:
- traveled by plane or other public transport?
- traveled beyond your home region (beyond 3-hours driving)?
- been in the same room (shared airspace) with anyone outside of your home, family or pod, for more than 15 minutes?
- done any work, activities and/or errands that may have exposed you?
- do you have a child going to school/camp or other indoor or crowded activities?
- do you have a partner, spouse, roommate or house-mate going out to work or other activities where exposure may have been possible?
For your session:
Masking is currently optional for clients. If you'd like a mask upon arrival, I have the triple-layer medical-style masks available.
Please hydrate well before your appointment and after. I will have water and tea for you if you'd like.
After you enter the building, please go immediately to wash your hands, scrubbing with soap for at least 20 seconds, and rinsing with warm water. I have hand sanitizer available.
I disinfect all of the touch surfaces in my office regularly. This goes without saying: Every client gets fresh linens.
I keep an Air Doctor air filter running with an Ultra HEPA filter and a carbon filter. Also, the old windows don’t close 100%, so there’s a small draft refreshing the air constantly.
I only work with a max of 3 clients per day.
I’ll open the door when I’m ready for you. Please sign in with your name, the date and time. Depending on viral spread prevention suggestions and Alameda County's Tier, I may take your temperature, wear glasses or a face shield.
Before any touch, I will sanitize my hands. Before beginning massage and bodywork, I will step out to wash my hands and arms while you undress to your comfort level and lay on the massage table.
